I'm 5'4", 140 lbs and 28 in Madewell jeans. I ordered these in an M. I carry most of my weight in my hips and butt and these felt too snug in both of those areas. However, there was plenty of excess fabric in the front. The fabric is 100% linen, but is stiff and doesn't flow like I expected. You can see through even the black linen in bright lighting. I like these, but I'm going to try sizing up to an L to see if these flow more around my hips.
